Kuronyon is the mascot character of Kurobe Dam. He was selected from a nationwide public competition and created in 2012 to commemorate Kurobe Dam's 50th anniversary. Since more than 10 million workers were involved in constructing Kurobe Dam, he wears a helmet and is dressed like a worker. He appears at events as the mascot character while taking walks around Kurobe Dam!
