The mascot character of Tateyama Town, Raijii also serves as Tateyama Town's tourism goodwill ambassador. Born in April 2013, he is a 20,003-year-old grandfather inspired by the rock ptarmigan. While patrolling Tateyama Town as part of his daily routine, he welcomes tourists visiting the town and goes to events inside and outside the prefecture to promote Tateyama Town.
