While retaining the bird’s intimidating face, its eyes are clear like light-blue marbles. The fluffy crest on its head is inspired by garlic chives, a specialty of Konan City, Kochi Prefecture, which has Japan’s highest production volume. Its appearance with its wings spread is striking; the light blue is incorporated into the wings like lace, giving the design a warm feeling. It embodies all the rich and distinctive impressions of the shoebill that high school students perceived. Despite its intimidating face, it has a very gentle personality. Shoebills are birds that normally barely move, but we wanted Biromin to be a kind presence that watches over children with clear eyes and comes to help if danger arises. In addition to this standard version of Biromin, there are also dress-up designs created in collaboration with local specialty products.
