Takko garlic image character Takko Prince. Takko Town produces a variety of garlic called Fukuchi White Six Cloves. Apparently, several thousand tons of garlic are harvested there over about two weeks in early July! As the prince of Takko Town’s historic “Garlic Farming Kingdom,” where a once-impoverished town became Japan’s leading producer through garlic cultivation, he shares town information on his blog and Twitter!
