Hirosaki City mascot character Takamaru-kun. He was created in 2009 as a character commemorating the 400th anniversary of the construction of Hirosaki Castle, and became Hirosaki City’s mascot character in 2011. He is known for wearing a helmet topped with Hirosaki Castle, and works to promote Hirosaki’s appeal throughout Japan!
