Takekkokun

Ikarigaseki District yuru character, Takekkokun. Takekkokun is a handsome member of the bamboo-shoot yuru-character world, born in Heisei 8 and modeled on nemagaridake bamboo, a specialty of Hirakawa City's Ikarigaseki District, long known as a bamboo-shoot-producing area. Because the Hirakawa City Bamboo Shoot Marathon is held there, his name comes from “takenoko” (bamboo shoot) and “kakekko” (running), and his hobby is marathon running. He appears at many events to promote Ikarigaseki District, where he was born and raised.
