The Muchuran Family, Mutsu City's PR Characters, consists of three family members: Monsieur Muchuran I, an alien who came from the Gourmet Planet and now lives in Mutsu after being captivated by the delicious foods of the Shimokita Peninsula; his wife, Madame Muchuran; and their child, Princess Muchuran. They participate in various events to promote the slogan “Mutsu's delicious food is the best in Japan!”
