Born from a rice-cooking pot, Wanja is the guide dog of JA Echigo Chuetsu, the agricultural cooperative located in the heart of Niigata, a rice-producing region. He races freely around the area, calling its many attractions “Wanja Land...!!” His charming features are his rice-ball-shaped head and rice-grain-shaped eyebrows. (He gets dejected when mistaken for a cat.) He can move through pots and rice cookers in the fourth dimension, and when called, he can leap out of any household's rice cooker. (Sometimes he appears even when nobody has called him...⁉)
