Taramaru was created with the walleye pollock, the parent fish of the town's specialty, tarako, as his motif. He wears a twisted headband and rubber boots in a full-on fisherman's style, has plump cod roe lips, and holds asparagus to represent the birthplace of asparagus cultivation. He is now working hard to promote the town!
