Udattsu-kun first appeared as an illustration in four-panel manga and elsewhere in 1990, then debuted as a costume character in 1994 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the city's establishment. He wears an udatsu fire wall, which remains in the city, on his head. Udattsu-kun was renewed in 2012 to make movement easier and works hard to promote Mino City.
