Kasamaru-kun and Kasamaru-chan, the Kasamatsu Town Mascot Characters, are twin characters created as one of the events commemorating Kasamatsu Town's 120th anniversary, after both their designs and names were selected from public submissions. They wear kasa hats, and their bodies represent boats because the town once prospered as a river port on the Kiso River. Apparently, their favorite things are Japanese sweets made in Kasamatsu Town.
