Yamagata Village image character, Yamacchi. She is a girl who is “an apprentice god of abundant harvests who dearly loves Yamagata Village.” Her hat is modeled on the roof of Kiyomizu-dera Temple and decorated with satsuki, the village flower, while her body is made of Japanese yew, the village tree. She was born after being selected from more than 300 entries submitted from across Japan and works hard to promote Yamagata Village.
