Wotaro, Kurobe City's Famous Water Symbol Character, was created from a manga artist's design to protect and promote Kurobe's famous water. Apparently, his father is “the mountains of the Northern Alps” and his mother is “Toyama Bay.” Beloved by the citizens, he participates in events and plays an active role for Kurobe's famous water.
