Matsunoyama area's promotional character, Yutotto, was created when 18 third-year students at Matsunoyama Junior High School in 2012 used class time to raise donations covering all the costs required to create the character. Yutotto is a three-year-old bird with a hot-spring symbol inspired by Matsunoyama Onsen.
