Omi Ushinosuke was created as a yuru character for Omi beef. Omi beef is a famous delicacy presented to the shogun's family in Edo and is one of Japan's three great wagyu varieties. Above all, Omi merchants pulled cattle overland to Edo and sold them along the way. This character combines these two historical images and was the winning entry in a public design contest.
