Otsu City tourism character Ōtsu Hikaru-kun. Born in 2008 in Otsu City, which has connections to The Tale of Genji, Ōtsu Hikaru-kun is an estimated 12-year-old boy who is good at composing waka poetry and playing sports. He became Otsu City’s tourism character in February 2009 and is active in promoting tourism in “Otsu, the city of the lake.” In 2015, he was renewed through donations, and further activity is anticipated!
