Toyooka City mascot character, Gen-san of the Basalt. Based on the basalt found in Toyooka City, Gen-san was active in 2009 as a PR character when the San'in Kaigan Geopark applied to the Global Geoparks Network. Gen-san is also one of the few characters that can speak, and speaks the Tajima dialect.
