Takanesawa Town mascot characters, Tantan and Momotan. Tantan, the green one, is a boy born in 1988 to commemorate the town's 40th anniversary. His name comes from “Tantan tanbo no Takanesawa.” Momotan, the peach-colored one, is a girl born from a cherry blossom and Tantan's friend. They are active in improving Takanesawa Town's image, appearing not only at events but also on merchandise and in public-relations newspapers.
