Tochisuke is Tochigi City's mascot character. Tochigi City prospered as a post town and wholesale district from the Edo period and is known as a storehouse town because many historic warehouses still remain. Tochisuke is a fairy boy created in the image of these warehouses. He was born on April 5, 2014, when Tochigi City and Iwafune Town merged, and appears at various events to support Tochigi City, wearing his favorite warehouse-style hood and cape.
