Aasharukurun was born on April 1, Heisei 26, as the mascot character of the Asaka City Social Welfare Council (Asaka City Shakyo). The name “Aasha” comes from “Asaka City Social Welfare Council,” while “Rukurun” comes from “Le Cœur,” French for heart. It is usually called “Rukurun.” The design joins heart shapes together to evoke the connection between people’s hearts and human interaction. Currently, Rukurun is active as a PR ambassador for the Asaka City Shakyo, connecting people’s hearts and helping a circle of welfare spread throughout the community!
