Tsurubō, Tsurui Village’s image character, is a boy born in 2014 with the village’s symbolic red-crowned crane and the yachibōzu plant of the Kushiro Wetland in mind. Cosmos, the village flower, is said to bloom on his tail, and a crane chick is also on his belly. He appears at events around the country to invigorate Tsurui Village and promote it nationwide.
