Akkeshi Town official character Umiemon. His topknot is a sea urchin, his eyebrows are kelp, his nose is a clam, his ears are surf clams, his shoulder guards are oysters, his hakama feature scallops, and his sword is a saury—the character was designed with Akkeshi Town’s specialty seafood and unveiled in May 2015. While introducing the appeal and attractions of Akkeshi Town on Facebook, his hobby, he appears at events with the town emblem on his chest and works hard to promote the town.
