Symbol of Ie Village, Tacchun. This character was unveiled in April 2015 wearing a hat inspired by the mountain called Ie Island Tacchuu, which rises on the island, and pants decorated with the local specialty peanuts. To promote Ie Island, accessible by ferry from Okinawa Island in about 30 minutes, Tacchun’s hat is decorated with a ferry and an Easter lily, and the character is said to carry island shallots on its back.
