Taketomi Town mascot character, Pikaryā. He is a boy who lives in Taketomi Town, Japan's southernmost municipality, and is an Iriomote wildcat. His name is based on Yamapikaryā, a legendary animal of Iriomote Island. The Yaeyama Islands are depicted on his belly, and he works hard as tourism promotion director to promote Taketomi Town so that many people will learn about it.
