Hirakata City industrial promotion character Hikoboshi-kun is a boy created from a publicly solicited design inspired by the Tanabata legend passed down in Hirakata City. As a symbol of “revitalizing local industry” and “encounters and connections,” he enjoys stargazing and appears at many events to promote Hirakata City’s attractions. His favorite person is Orihime-chan, the industrial promotion character of Katano City.
