Nakagusuku Village mascot Gosamaru was created in Heisei 21 based on Gosamaru, lord of Nakagusuku Castle around 1440 in the fifteenth century and a hero passed down in the history of Nakagusuku Village. He appears at events carrying the village specialty shima ninjin to help more people learn about Nakagusuku Village and the Nakagusuku Castle ruins.
