Otomichan is Tomioka City's image character. In March 2012, the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Tomioka Silk Mill, citizens and others were invited to submit a nickname, and she was named Otomichan. She is a forever-14-year-old girl who was created at that time. She works hard to promote the Tomioka Silk Mill, registered as a World Cultural Heritage site, and to make Tomioka City more prosperous.
