Rishiri Town mascot character Rishirin. Rishirin was born on Rishiri Island in 2011 with Rishiri kelp as his motif. Mount Rishiri, one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, is depicted on his belly, and the town flower, Ezo daylily, is depicted on his head. He appears at events inside and outside Hokkaido and welcomes passengers from large cruise ships that call at the port.
