Publicity ambassador for the 450th anniversary of the opening of Kuchinotsu Port. Captain Veiga was born at the Harajo Ikki Festival in April 2012 as the mascot character for the 450th-anniversary project commemorating the opening of Kuchinotsu Port. His real name is Tristan Vaz de Veiga, the name of the captain of the Portuguese ship that first entered Kuchinotsu Port in 1567. His height of 3.5 meters is his distinguishing feature, and he will be active at various events.
