Nagasaki National Sports Festival characters Ganba-kun and Ramba-chan. They are the mascot characters of the Nagasaki Ganbaranba National Sports Festival and Nagasaki Ganbaranba Games, held in 2014, and are based on the prefectural bird, the mandarin duck. Ganba-kun promotes and cheers for the events so that everyone involved can unite and become excited. Ramba-chan supports Ganba-kun as he works to make the events successful and cheers for the athletes and residents while dressed as a cheerleader.
