Hamatonbetsu Town's official mascot character, Swatton, is a boy born to bring happiness to Hamatonbetsu Town in commemoration of the town government's 60th anniversary. His motif is the swans that descend on Lake Kutcharo. With the goal of revitalizing Hamatonbetsu Town, he appears at various events in the town and works hard to become someone loved by its residents.
