Shiroi City mascot characters Nashibō and Kaori. Born in a pear orchard in the city, the six-member Nashibō family is modeled on different pear varieties: the mother is Kōsui, the grandfather is Chōjūrō, and the father is Hōsui. Representing the family, Nashibō, the original pear character, and Kaori work hard on promotional activities for “Shiroi pears,” a specialty of Shiroi City, and to improve the city's image. Nashibō celebrated 20 years since debut in July 2015!
