Shiroi City unofficial character Byakushin Daimao is active in Shiroi City, one of the famous pear-producing areas. It is inspired by rust disease, which causes pears, apples, and other fruit trees to grow poorly when infected. Since rust disease is caused by fungi that parasitize juniper plants, Byakushin Daimao calls on Shiroi residents to be careful around juniper plants. Its rival is apparently Shiroi City character Nashibo.
