Yuru-chara boy swordsman Gen-chan. He was created based on the Toda-striped diving beetle, an insect that lived in Todagahara, which once spread along the Arakawa River in Toda City. Todagahara disappeared due to development, and apparently the Toda-striped diving beetle has not been found in Toda City since 1986. In the meantime, Gen-chan practices kendo every day while appearing mainly at events in the city.
