Fujinomiya City image character, Sakuya-chan. She is a girl who debuted as the new image character in 2012, the year marking the city's 70th anniversary, after being selected from submitted designs. Inspired by Konohanasakuyahimenomikoto, the deity enshrined at Asama Taisha, she wears a kimono inspired by the snowmelt water of Mount Fuji and a necklace decorated with the city's fish, rainbow trout. She is active by participating in many events to promote Fujinomiya City.
