Kikunon is Kikugawa City's mascot character. This fairy was created to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the city's establishment and is based on tea, a local specialty and the city's official tree. Kikunon was created after the nickname was selected from more than 2,000 entries. In April 2014, Kikunon was issued a special resident certificate and works hard to promote Kikugawa City.
