The mascot character of the Takefu Chrysanthemum Doll Festival, Kikurin is a chrysanthemum fairy created through a public competition in 2011, based on chrysanthemums, to promote the annual Takefu Chrysanthemum Doll event, one of Japan's representative chrysanthemum doll exhibitions. Kikurin wears a chrysanthemum ornament on the head. Kikurin shares event information and scenes from outings around the prefecture on Twitter while working hard to become a character representing Fukui Prefecture.
