Sakurajiman, the Kagoshima PR Character, was created as the mascot character for Nenrinpic Kagoshima 2008 and played an active role in enlivening the event. He later joined the Kagoshima PR Division and participates in many product fairs and events inside and outside the prefecture as a Kagoshima PR Supporter, conveying Kagoshima's appeal to people throughout Japan.
