Yuzaki Nebuka mascot character Neppy. From the Edo period through the prewar era, Kawanishi Town prospered as a production area for Yuzaki Nebuka green onions. However, because they were soft and easily broken, they were unsuitable for distribution, and they became rarely seen. In Heisei 14 (2002), a townwide revival project began to make Yuzaki Nebuka a taste of home and a local specialty. Neppy is active as a character modeled on this historic Yuzaki Nebuka!
