Sata Cape in Minamiosumi Town, the southernmost point of mainland Japan, is covered in blooming hibiscus all year round. Misaki-chan was born when a hibiscus fell into the sea and a coral spirit took up residence in it. Her body represents an island floating in the sea, and her hands evoke the rough waves of the Kuroshio Current.
