Shiraoka City’s yuru characters Nashibee and Nashirin were created with pears as their motif because Shiraoka City is a historic city that has cultivated pears since the Meiji era. The pair are Nashibee, a grandfather who knows everything about pears, and his grandchild Nashirin. They were also issued special resident certificates by Shiraoka City and promote pears and the city!
