Kawajima Town mascot characters, Kawabee and Kawamin. Born with figs, a local specialty, as their motif. “Kawabee” combines “kawa” from Kawajima Town and “bee,” referring to rice, a specialty once presented to the Kawagoe Domain as storehouse rice during the Edo period. He is a gourmet grandfather who knows everything about Kawajima Town. His granddaughter Kawamin is a girl who debuted in Heisei 24 (2012), the 40th anniversary of the town’s establishment. She loves the town’s nature and is apparently knowledgeable about agricultural products. They appear at various events to help more people learn about Kawajima Town and become beloved by its residents!
