Affiliation: Saika Town Development Promotion Council. The Saika district of Matsue City began when the Saika-shū arquebus corps, which was active from Kishu Wakayama during the Warring States period to protect the area around Matsue Castle, settled there. It has continued to the present day as an ashigaru town. Ashigaru-kun was born in 2009 to share the charms of the Saika district. Every day, he works hard promoting the district as its captain of support.
