Haiku-chan is the character selected in 2008 from 261 entries solicited from elementary school students throughout Iga City on the theme of Iga’s traditions and culture. Together with Iga☆Grio, Haiku-chan travels throughout Japan sharing Iga through haiku. Wearing a matching midriff-baring outfit and loose socks like Grio-kun, Haiku-chan is “a slightly gal-like Bashō-san”♪ She loves composing haiku.
