Created in 2012 to commemorate Tohaku (the Tokyo National Museum)’s 140th anniversary and promote its appeal. Tohaku-kun’s motif is “Haniwa: Dancing People,” held by the museum, while Yurinoki-chan’s motif is the museum’s symbolic tree, the Japanese tulip tree.
