Furusato Fuchu History Museum mascot character Musashi Kame-maru was created with the Musashi-style jars excavated during archaeological investigations throughout the city as its motif, since Fuchu was a prosperous place during the Heian period. It is said that Musashi Kame-maru was born in Fuchu during the Nara period and has lived alongside the archaeological sites ever since. It works hard to promote and introduce archaeological sites and excavated objects, appearing at various events.
