Hakodate tourism image character Ekizo-kun. His outfit is inspired by red brick, with Goryokaku on the chest and Mount Hakodate and the ropeway on his hat. Ekizo-kun expresses Hakodate’s attractions with his whole body. He was created when the Hokkaido Shinkansen opened, to promote Hakodate’s attractions and encourage more people to visit. He works hard by sharing Hakodate’s information and attractions on Twitter and elsewhere.
