Sakai City waste-reduction mascot character, Mūyan. His name apparently came from the wish to eliminate garbage becoming “Mu ga ee yan” and then “Mūyan.” He works hard promoting waste reduction and sorting at events while sharing information on Twitter and elsewhere to encourage interest in these issues!
