Wasamaru, the Masuda Living character, is a Hikimi wasabi fairy modeled on Hikimi wasabi, cultivated since long ago using the water of the clear Takatsu River in Hikimi Town, Masuda City. Wasamaru is said to carry a wasabi grater on the back. Wasamaru promotes Hikimi wasabi by appearing at events while sharing information about Hikimi Town, not only Hikimi wasabi, on Facebook and elsewhere.
