Owase City Council of Social Welfare character Yaya-nyan. Her name, Yaya-nyan, was chosen from Owase City’s unusual Yaya Festival. She was unveiled in February 2016 as the city’s lucky cat and wears a sash reading, “Your smile is a treasure.” Her favorite foods are yellowtail sashimi and yellowtail cooked with daikon. She is active in conveying Owase City’s kindness and compassion.
